Mohawk Mountain Race is a fall trail race at Mohawk Mountain Ski Resort in Connecticut, offering distances from 5K through marathon. The mountain, typically used for skiing and snowboarding, features routes that climb and descend on steep resort trails rather than rolling through a flat park. Even the 5K route includes 1,332 feet of elevation gain, the 10K doubles that loop for 2,664 feet, and the marathon covers 6,338 feet across two half-marathon loops. The shorter races remain on the ski mountain grounds, while the half marathon extends into Mohawk State Forest, totaling 3,169 feet of climbing. The Raven Trail Races take runners into the Seven Mountains region of Bald Eagle State Forest in Pennsylvania. Routes traverse Poe Valley’s dark pines, rocky terrain, and quiet woods. It is primarily intended for experienced trail runners, though well-prepared hikers are welcome if they show respect for the environment. Aid stations serve both distances; the half marathon route includes Dry Hollow, Penns View, and Mountain Church, while the 10K utilizes Mountain Church.
Husky Run & Ruck 10K, 5K and Fitness Walk

The Husky Run & Ruck takes place during Veterans Day weekend in Storrs, Connecticut. It features a 10K run, a 5K run, and an untimed 1-mile fitness walk. The event is centered at UConn, with ceremonies before and after the races held outside the Student Recreation Center. All three main events begin on Hillside Road in the morning. The 5K has a distinct start area, separate from the 10K and walk. The 10K route follows the Bonemill loop through the rural Mansfield-Storrs area. All courses include a pass by the Ultimate Sacrifice Memorial on the Great Lawn. Proceeds benefit scholarships for military and veteran students, as well as the Kyle Milliken Fund. A Blackhawk helicopter landing on the Great Lawn adds a military presence, complementing the standard start line ceremony. L'été, l'entraînement reste simple : départs YMCA en semaine pour les coureurs, sorties dominicales hors site, et quelques tours de parcours de course pour affûter. Les cyclistes peuvent rester en Z2 sur les routes goudronnées, puis utiliser les montées vers le nord pour le travail de force avant un gran fondo ou une grosse sortie club. L'hiver, ça change plus l'état d'esprit que la carte. Les mêmes boucles sur route, sorties trail et options mixtes restent les repères, mais coureurs et cyclistes choisissent les séances avec plus de soin quand la lumière et les conditions se compliquent.
