The Salverda Berkumloop is a yearly road race held in late summer in Berkum, a district of Zwolle, Netherlands. Approximately 1,500 runners gather at Wijkcentrum De Weijenbelt, the start and finish point. The race offers straightforward 5 km and 10 km distances, with the 10 km open to participants aged 12 and older.
The course winds through Berkum and extends into the neighborhood's green periphery, marking it as a local event rather than a large-scale city spectacle. It began in 1991 with 110 participants when Teun Bouwhuis introduced the concept after encountering a race at a French campsite where vacationers and locals competed together. The following year, it was named the Salverda Berkumloop. The event continues to generate funds for various charities annually. Additionally, the 10 km includes an incentive: prize money is awarded for new men's and women's course records.
