Marathon Amerfoort

Marathon Amersfoort is an annual running event in Amersfoort, Netherlands, held since 2019. It accommodates a broad range of participants, not exclusively marathon runners, offering race distances from 5K to 42K, alongside walking options and an affordable 42.2K training run. The event attracts approximately 6,000 to 7,000 participants annually, with a significant number of international runners; one recent edition featured participants from 43 countries. Local youth are integrated into the program through 1.1K and 2.2K Minimarathons, a 5K School Challenge for secondary students, and complimentary entry for primary and secondary pupils from Amersfoort and surrounding communities. Musical acts and DJs are positioned along sections of the course, contributing to the day's atmosphere as a city running festival rather than a subdued road race.
