The Brandefant Triathlon Race begins at Imingfjell Turistheim in Uvdal, Norway, situated at the base of Hardangervidda. The race headquarters are located approximately 1100 meters above sea level. This is a summer mountain triathlon designed for adults and amateur athletes, not professionals. Organizers refer to it as Norway's most challenging amateur race. The complete course spans 55 kilometers, incorporating swimming, cycling, and running, with over 1000 meters of elevation gain.
The event commences with a 1500-meter swim in a mountain lake at an altitude of 1060 meters. Cyclists then navigate 40 kilometers along gravel roads into Imingdalen. The final leg is a 12.5-kilometer run through mountain terrain. A support relay option is available, allowing participants to share the triathlon. Residents, cabin owners, and villagers are invited to support participants along the course. The day concludes at Imingfjell Turistheim with a banquet, buffet, and live music.
