The Apiti 200 BRM is a 200 km brevet-style ride beginning in Palmerston North at 7 am. It is a quiet rural route, not a large-city race, designed with a long out-and-back character through the Pohangina Valley, including a northern loop at the furthest point.
The route follows Pohangina Valley East Road up and down the valley, then circles through Rangiwahia and Apiti before heading back. The Apiti Pub is integrated into the day's schedule; riders pause there for lunch, with provisions for a second meal before the return journey.
