Albi is a hill town in the Tarn valley where cycling dominates the calendar—the Championnats du monde 24 heures takes place on the local circuit, drawing serious endurance riders year-round. Runners find rolling terrain through vineyards and the Tarn riverside, but cyclists are the priority here: the sandstone hills around town offer 3–5% sustained climbs, and the wider Midi-Pyrénées network feeds into longer events like La Castraise (128km) and the Randonnées Des Vendanges Rabastinoise (81km). The town sits at 190m elevation and is warm and dry most of the year, ideal for base training.
