About this race
The Henry Angel Trackhead places you directly on the Hume and Hovell Walking Track, tracing the path of Hamilton Hume and William Hovell's 1824 expedition towards Port Phillip Bay. The Hume and Hovell Ultra offers a genuine trail running experience, featuring native bushland, Burra Creek, historical relics along the track, and the Snowy Mountains as a backdrop, distinct from a conventional road race.
The majority of the course is on singletrack, requiring adjustments in pace and focus, with ample opportunity to navigate through "native bushland and majestic mountain ranges." The extended distances involve challenging terrain and ascents, but the shorter distances and "generous cut-offs" accommodate novice trail runners, families, and beginners, as well as seasoned ultra runners seeking "spectacular Snowy Mountains scenery."
