Memory Walk & Jog: Redcliffe
About this race
The Redcliffe Memory Walk & Jog begins at Scarborough Beach Park on the Redcliffe foreshore, with Moreton Bay alongside the routes. This event is part of Dementia Australia’s yearly Memory Walk & Jog fundraising series. Participants can select a 10km timed run, a 5.5km walk/jog, or a 2.5km walk. The shortest option is suitable for families and casual participants, while the 10km offers runners a flat, timed course on accessible paths.
The routes primarily follow sealed pathways through parklands and along the beachfront, creating a community atmosphere by the water rather than a strenuous road race. Individuals or groups can enter, proceed at their own pace, and raise funds for dementia research, support, education, and resources throughout Australia. Many attendees have a personal connection; Joanne Woods, for instance, participated to honor her father and help raise awareness of dementia.
