Red Centre Wringer Backyard Ultra

Saturday, August 1, 2026 · Alice Springs, Australia

About this race

From Telegraph Station Historical Reserve, the East/Stuart/Arrwe loop takes you directly into the character of Central Australia. The Red Centre Wringer Backyard Ultra is a grassroots, last-person-standing event with Alice charm, but the setup is demanding: one loop every hour until only one runner remains. Expect highly technical terrain, featuring deep sand patches, water crossings, and rocky sections that demand concentration on every lap, not just fitness. It attracts experienced trail and ultra runners willing to manage their own food and fluid, set up their own camp, and contend with the elements lap after lap as the field diminishes.
