The Amazons Australia

Mission Beach and the Cassowary Coast provide The Amazons Australia a rugged tropical setting: coastal paths, rainforest trails, and waterways that are meant to be traversed, not viewed from afar. It is an All Women's Stage Adventure Race for teams of two, designed as an "extreme adventure combining trekking, navigation, mountain biking, paddling and mystery challenges" across the natural landscape of Tropical North Queensland. This event is for women who know how to endure: experienced adventure racers, or very fit athletes prepared to train specifically for it. Expect varied surfaces, genuine navigation, multiple transitions, paddling sections, and sufficient unpredictability in the mystery challenges to penalize poor preparation. The pace is to race intensely by day, then rest and recover by night, with a course that "tests both physical endurance and mental resilience" beyond mere leg speed.
