Fredericksburg Train Station shapes this kids' race immediately, with young runners starting near the tracks before heading through historic downtown toward the City Docks. The Great Train Race has been on the local running calendar for over 30 years, and it is a chance for kids to "compete in a race just for them."
The course concludes at the "Crown Trophy Finish Line," a nice touch for small runners seeking the full race-day moment. Families gather for the Race Festival behind the Train Station, featuring awards, music, vendors, and treats. The event caters to young runners: older kids get chip-timed races, while the Caboose Run is a fun run for the littlest participants.
