This Olympic Mountain Marathon is a 15 km trail run on Mount Olympus, held at Refuge «D. Moundolas» in Stavros, above Litochoro, Pieria. It begins Saturday afternoon, offering participants a demanding mountain course with 1,300 m of elevation gain and loss within the route, rather than a fast road race.
Runners begin and end at the refuge, situated at 920 m, focusing the event high on the mountain. The Greek Mountaineering Club of Thessaloniki organizes this race, which is open to adults. Bibs can be picked up at the refuge before the start or beforehand at the club's offices in Thessaloniki. The awards ceremony takes place before the official finish window closes, aligning with the event's focused, mountain-club atmosphere.
