The Olympic Mountain Marathon begins high on Mount Olympus at Refuge "D. Moundolas" in Stavros, situated at 920m elevation. The course covers 41.91 km of trails, featuring 2,974m of ascent and an equal amount of descent. The race takes place on a Sunday, starting at 07:00 and concluding at 18:00, as part of the 36th Olympic Mountain Marathon series.
The route concludes at the same refuge where it starts. Participants ascend from Stavros and descend back through the Olympus trail network. Petrostrouga serves as a key checkpoint: runners must reach it during the ascent within 2 hours 45 minutes and pass it again on the descent within 7 hours 45 minutes. The event is open to adults aged 18 and over, with no registration on race day. Bibs can be collected at the Greek Mountaineering Club of Thessaloniki offices in Thessaloniki or at the Litochoro Naval Museum prior to the race. Awards are scheduled to commence at 14:30.
