Maraton Solidarności is presented in its e-marathon format: participants can run anywhere globally, though the traditional finish remains at Gdańsk, beneath Neptune’s Fountain. The event commences at the start of July and concludes at the end of August. The main marathon is complemented by several shorter runs, rather than a single street-race day.
The standard race follows Trójmiasto streets with an Old Town finish in Gdańsk. However, this year's edition deviated from the usual shared road course because organizers were unable to obtain street permits. Race director Kazimierz Zimny highlighted the absence of key elements: a collective start, the finish-line experience under Neptune, the August atmosphere in Gdańsk Old Town, a communal meal, and the opportunity for in-person interaction. Participants were instead requested to submit photographs, transforming the event into a virtual demonstration of support for the race's continuation until the next standard edition.
