シドニーのランナーは、水辺の近くでイージーランをすることが多いよ。The Bay Runはいつも気持ちいいし、KyeemaghからDolls Pointまでは景色もすごくいいし、フラットで速く走れるんだ。TempeではCook's River沿いのリズムランができるし、その道はCanterbury Racetrackの方まで約10kmくらい走れるよ。Manlyに行くと、Manly Beach沿いを走って、Shelly Beachを過ぎて、North Headまで上りがあるね。BondiからCoogeeまでは、往復15Kでずっとビーチの景色を楽しめるよ。Sydney Run Club、440 Run Club Bronte、Bondi Beach Run Club、BRAT、Coogee Run Clubなんかは、みんなで楽しく走れるペースを保ってくれるクラブだよ。City2Surf SydneyとTCS Sydney Marathonは、シドニーのメインイベントだね。

Sydney Cycling ClubはCentennial Parkを拠点にしてて、Parkes DriveにあるSpruce Goose Dinerのあたりからライドが始まるんだ。平日のグループライドは朝6:00 amから、週末は6:30 amからスタートして、ライドの後は公園に戻ってコーヒーや朝食を楽しむ感じ。火曜のLapa + Malabarライドは29kmで獲得標高300m、水曜のWatsons Bayは30kmで獲得標高600mと、しっかり上れるよ。Vaucluse hills、Heart Break Hill、Cranbrook Road、Cottage Point、3 Gorges、Mosman Alps、Brooklynあたりは、上りがきつい場所だね。Blue Mountains、Sutherland Shire、Narrow Neck Peninsula、AndersonsとThe Oaks firetrails、Lady Carrington Driveなんかは、gravelやsingletrack、Z2でのbase milesにぴったりだよ。

春と秋が最高の季節だね。9月から11月と3月から5月は、インターバル、ロングZ2、週末のブロックトレーニングに最高のコンディションだよ。夏は暑い日が多くて、海の温度はだいたい23-25°Cくらいかな。都心部では30°Cを超える日が35日から65日くらいあって、内陸のwestern suburbsはCBDよりも暑くなるから、地元の人たちは早朝からスタートして、ロングライドでは水をしっかり持って行くんだ。冬は穏やかで涼しいくらいで、海の温度は18-20°Cくらいだよ。Western Sydneyでは早朝に霜が降りることもあるし、3月から9月にかけて西から東へ向かうライドだと、向かい風、寒さ、雨に見舞われることもあるよ。
