Heart Racer Junior Triathlon 2026

At Heidelberg’s Heart Racer Junior Triathlon, children and teenagers race a compact triathlon organized by a team led by former professional triathlete Katja Schumacher. The event resumed after a break due to COVID-19, with strict hygiene measures, including starts staggered by 10 seconds, ensuring the young athletes did not begin in a single large group. The swim featured a controlled, precise serpentine course through the pool, with some participants needing to duck under lane ropes as part of the pattern. The Germersheim Trikids were among the clubs participating, with four athletes from Turnerschaft Germersheim competing. Katharina Heinrich won the Jugend A age group, completing a race that involved 200 meters of swimming and 12 kilometers of cycling.
