Foulée du Saint Joseph begins at the Cave de Saint-Désirat in Saint-Désirat, a village in Ardèche in southeastern France. The race weekend centers on two main options: a 16 km nature trail and a 10 km race, typically held in late February, with children’s and junior races also included.
The 16 km route is primarily off-road, with approximately 80% on paths. It passes La Madone and Chatelet, then follows vineyard tracks before returning, connecting the race closely to the local wine region. The 10 km also starts from the cave and accommodates joëlette participation, allowing runners with reduced mobility to join. The event has taken place for over thirty editions and has attracted more than 500 participants under the local motto “Saint Jo t’attend!”
