Trail du Lirou begins in Les Matelles, a village in the Hérault department of France, near the Pic Saint-Loup. This spring trail-running event offers several distances: the 32 km Transmédiévale with 1100 m elevation gain, the 21.8 km La Caulière with 750 m elevation gain, and the 12.9 km La Pitchoune with 200 m elevation gain. A Nordic walking option and children's races of 500 m, 1500 m, and 3000 m are also available, making the day suitable for trail runners, walkers, and families.
The longer courses are part of the Challenge du Pic Saint-Loup, connecting the race to the local trail network around the limestone hills north of Montpellier. The Transmédiévale can be completed solo or as a two-person relay. La Boréale offers walkers a 10 km route with 150 m elevation gain. Los Blanbecks organize the event with volunteer support, and one euro from each registration goes to an association. The program includes entertainment and children's races, contributing to a community atmosphere at the village start area.
