ランニング： 地元の人たちは、気軽に走りたい時とか、ちょっと街の雰囲気を感じたい時にVienne川沿いを走るね。Bois de la Bastideはやっぱり落ち着いてていいよ。2kmから7kmまで4つの周回コースがあるし。Parc de Beaublancには本格的なトラックもあるし、約2kmのループもあるよ。Uzurat湖は1.5kmの簡単な周回コース。Limoges Athlé 87は1000人以上のメンバーがいて、年齢問わずセッションがあるから、クラブの雰囲気はかなり本格的だよ。Foulées du Populaire、Marathon 4 Alzheimer、Trail des Ponticauds、Urban Trail Limogesあたりが、こっちのランニングイベントのメインかな。

サイクリング： ローカルのライダーはリモージュからすぐ郊外に出るよ。リムーザンの丘陵地帯とか村々を走るのが、いいbase milesになるからね。La Vélidéale (V93)はSaint-NazaireからVassivière lakeまで665kmのルートで、リモージュ市内も通ってる。Vassivière lakeまでのライドは6kmで、だいたい1時間半くらいかかるかな。Limoges Saint-Pardoux Bénéventループは146kmもあって、10時間かかる大回りだよ。登りはMassif Centralの西側の麓とか、町の外に点在する坂から来る感じ。La Limousine André Dufraisseが、こっちのライダーにとってのメインレースだね。

シーズン： 6月、7月、8月はランニングもサイクリングも、一番気持ちいい夏のトレーニング期間だね。夏の嵐はBay of Biscayから激しく来るから、空が怪しくなる前にintervalsとかZ2は済ませるのが地元流。10月から2月にかけては雨が多い時期で、冬になると両方のスポーツのリズムが変わるんだ。冬は平均で霜が降りる日が41日、雪が降る日が18日もあるから、ランナーはBeaublancとか短い周回コースをよく使うよ。ライダーは道が許す限り、安定したbase milesでgran fondoの脚を衰えさせないようにしてる。寒さが厳しくなると、cyclocrossとかsingletrackの方が面白くなってくるね。
