La Foulée des Sacres

La Foulée des Sacres begins next to Reims Cathedral on cours Anatole France, starting runners into the city at 8 PM for an 8 km road race. The event takes place in late May or early June in Reims, located in France’s Grand Est region. Its single-distance format is straightforward for club runners, casual runners, and first-timers. The Reims firefighters’ association organizes it with city services, and its name references Notre-Dame de Reims, the cathedral associated with the coronations of French kings. The course consists of two 4 km loops through Reims streets, finishing near the cathedral once more. Runners head toward the Basilica of Saint Remi, incorporating two significant heritage sites into a compact evening race. Reims holds two UNESCO listings, and the race utilizes this setting without requiring a long commitment from participants. ランスでの練習あれこれ

ランニング： 何も考えずにZ2で走りたい時は、地元の人たちはParc de Champagne、Hautes Promenades、Parc Léo-Lagrange、Parc Saint-Remi、あとは運河沿いを走ってるね。Spirit of runってクラブは、真剣だけどフレンドリーな感じで、毎週8回、STAPS track、Parc de Champagne、運河、Montagne de Reimsでコーチ付きのセッションがあるんだ。クラブの練習は火曜、水曜、金曜、日曜だから、インターバルとかロングランもスケジュールに入れやすいよ。Reims Marathonがカレンダーの目玉だけど、Les Etapes Rémoises、La Foulée des Sacres、Les Bacchantes Reims、Reims Champagne Runとか、他にもゼッケンがもらえるレースはたくさんあるから飽きないね。

サイクリング： フラットなbase milesを稼ぎたい時は、地元の人たちはCanal de l'Aisne à la Marneを走るんだけど、脚を鍛えたい時は西か南へバイクを向かわせるんだ。CYCLO CLUB REMOISは毎週水曜と日曜に走ってるし、100、150、200 kmのBrevetsはBasilique Saint-Rémiからスタートするよ。BCMRはMontagne de Reimsが舞台で、1,000から1,500人くらいのサイクリストが集まるんだ。上り坂はMontagne de Reims、Massif de St Thierry、Côte des Blancsにあって、ブドウ畑や森、白い石灰質の道が続くから、gravelライドにはもってこいだよ。

シーズン： 5月から9月はランスでのトレーニングが一番はかどる時期だね。ロードでしっかり距離を走れるし、gravelライドも楽しめるし、ワイン産地を巡るロングライドも最高だよ。夏はイベントが多くて脚が忙しくなるんだ。7月7日にはCross trail torduがあるし、2024年の7月7日にはツール・ド・フランスがChampagneを訪れたんだよね。バイク旅行のベストシーズンも5月から9月だから、地元の人たちは丘を攻める前にZ2をしっかり積んでるよ。冬になると雰囲気がガラッと変わるんだ。ランスは海洋性気候で、かなり寒くなることもあるし、2月25日にはLes Etapes Rémoises "Foulées Hivernales"も開催されるんだ。
