La Foulée des Sacres
La Foulée des Sacres begins next to Reims Cathedral on cours Anatole France, starting runners into the city at 8 PM for an 8 km road race. The event takes place in late May or early June in Reims, located in France’s Grand Est region. Its single-distance format is straightforward for club runners, casual runners, and first-timers. The Reims firefighters’ association organizes it with city services, and its name references Notre-Dame de Reims, the cathedral associated with the coronations of French kings. The course consists of two 4 km loops through Reims streets, finishing near the cathedral once more. Runners head toward the Basilica of Saint Remi, incorporating two significant heritage sites into a compact evening race. Reims holds two UNESCO listings, and the race utilizes this setting without requiring a long commitment from participants. Over 3,000 people participated in the last edition, and the Marne firefighters provide entertainment in the finish area after the run.
