The Bieg Sapiehów begins in Kodeń's Market Square, next to St. Anne's Basilica. The primary event is a 15 km road race from Kodeń to Kopytów and back, featuring a flat, PZLA-certified asphalt course. This event is held alongside a 5 km Nordic walking race and shorter races for primary school pupils and preschoolers. Participants in the adult races must be at least 16 years old; children compete separately with parental permission.
The initial 15 km segment follows Kodeń's streets before proceeding onto the county road towards Kopytów, approximately 6 km distant. The return leg leads back to Kodeń, concluding on Szkolna Street near the Educational Institutions Complex. The course is marked with kilometer signs, includes electronic timing, and offers refreshments at 5 km, 10 km, and the finish line. The Nordic walking course is predominantly asphalt, with a brief unpaved field-road section that is about 30% soft and flat. The event also incorporates a local religious and historical element: a presentation on the Marian Sanctuary in Kodeń and a Mass for participants, sponsors, and organizers precede the races.
