Fall Into Green
Fall Into Green was a unique Cheyenne running event, established when the 11th Spring into Green race was canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It featured 5K and 10K races starting at 8:00 a.m. from Holliday Park, located at Morrie and Lincolnway. Runners started in waves of approximately 20 to 25 participants. Chip timing was employed for all runners, with results published by the Cheyenne Greenway Foundation. Medals were sent by mail, differing from the typical race-day distribution. The race route showcased the Sun Valley segment of the Greater Cheyenne Greenway, maintaining a strong connection to the trail system it benefited. Funds raised were reinvested into Greenway improvements, including bike repair stations, water fountains, and public art installations. Awards were presented for the 5K and 10K events across male and female categories, seniors aged 60 and older, and young boys and girls, positioning it as a community fundraiser accommodating competitive runners, families, and regular Greenway users.
