Oslo Triatlon, established in 1983, is Norway’s oldest and largest triathlon, held at Sognsvann in Oslo. The primary event follows an Olympic-distance format: a 1500-meter swim, a 40 km cycle, and a 10 km run. Shorter sprint and supersprint options are also available.
The swim takes place in Sognsvann, the lake adjacent to the venue. Beyond the main race, the event features relay competitions, a double distance option (sprint and Olympic combined), an aquathlon, a police championship, and a children’s adapted race. This variety caters to competitive age-group athletes, teams, families, and novices. Sportsklubben Rye organizes the event, which has seen hundreds of participants in its Olympic and sprint races in recent years.
