About this race
National Boulevard forms the circuit: a compact, functional criterium course starting from Link Drive. Facilities are located at the "Caffeinated AF" cafe, situated near the back straight and the top corner. This event is for masters men and women aged 30 and over, structured as "Graded scratch races" instead of a relaxed ride. Expect disciplined bunch riding and some pre-race sorting by grade.
Early check-in is required, with numbers and transponders being important. Each grade receives its own briefing before the start. The course may feature "Multiple bunches" in motion simultaneously, making the primary instruction crucial and deserving of attention: "Be respectful as you overtake / are overtaken." The participants are primarily AusCycling members, though trial riders are accepted. The day retains a club-race atmosphere, with an expectation that all participants understand the procedures and contribute accordingly.
