The 10 km de Ruitz begins at the Salle de Sport on rue du Bois in Ruitz, offering races of 1 km, 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. This event takes place on a Sunday morning in October, organized by the Maison des Jeunes and the city. The main 10 km race combines road running with nature-path sections, deviating from an all-asphalt course.
The route features the Côte de la Renardière, a climb challenging enough to warrant its own prize: the Challenge de la Renardière is awarded to the fastest climber across all categories. The updated format provides separate loops for the 5 km and 10 km races, meaning runners ascend this hill once instead of twice, a modification favored by most of the 720 participants in the previous year. Corporate teams also participate via a distance-based Trophée Entreprise and two speed awards for the quickest workplace teams over 5 km and 10 km. Additionally, the race donates 1 euro from each 5 km and 10 km entry fee to CKrun diabète and Le petit monde d’Ecclésiaste.
