Trail des Brosses maintains its official routes privately, meaning runners register without a public GPX track for prior study. This trail running event takes place in Chantraine, a small town in the Vosges region near Épinal, during November. It is known locally as “Le Trail Made In Vosges.” The schedule includes short trail races up to an ultra-style option, with distances of 7 km, 13 km, 22 km, 35 km, and 50 km. Additionally, there are children’s races and a distinct event named L’Obscure.
The 50 km race features approximately 1,200 metres of elevation gain, offering a challenging mountain-region trail experience without being an extreme alpine undertaking. The variety of distances caters to different runner levels, from local participants trying a short forest race to experienced trail runners increasing their distance, and families with children participating in their own events. Organizers advise participants to arrive early due to limited parking near the urban start area; parking at the equestrian center is reserved for volunteers, and improperly parked vehicles risk being towed.
