Recurring 5K races near Carros
Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly
Marinières en Rose
Marinières en Rose is a pink-themed sports weekend in Villefranche-sur-Mer on the Côte d’Azur, held as part of Octobre Rose, France’s breast cancer awareness month. The program includes open-water swimming, aquathlons, relays, children’s races, 1 km and 3 km bay crossings, and a 5 km walk. Team Lafage Organisation runs the event, and all donations go to Monaco’s Princess Grace Hospital Centre to support women affected by cancer.
The setting is the Marinières beach area and the bay of Villefranche, with sections close to the water and sand underfoot. The day includes women, men, and children, making it feel like a community fundraiser with sport at the center. Newer editions have added the Traversée de la Rade, which fits the place well: the bay is part of the event itself.
Cross Valdeblore
Cross Valdeblore is a cross-country race held in Saint-Dalmas Valdeblore, organized by Club Sportif Valdeblore. It features short off-road distances ranging from 400 metres to 5 km, making it suitable for children, beginners, and runners seeking a brief mountain effort instead of an extended trail race.
The courses are situated at the entrance to Mercantour National Park, crossing conifer forest edges, mountain paths, and green meadows surrounding the village. This is the event's second edition, giving it the atmosphere of a local community gathering centered on Valdeblore’s mountain environment.
Urban trail de Mandelieu
The Urban Trail de Mandelieu begins at the Berges de Siagne in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, France. Its early-October program focuses on short urban-trail distances. The main options include a timed 15 km race, an untimed 5 km run, and a children’s race of about 1 km, making the event suitable for those not solely focused on performance.
The course combines town sections with natural terrain around Mandelieu, set against a backdrop of the sea, mountains, local scenery, and monuments. The 15 km is for competitive runners, the 5 km is for those who prefer a run without time pressure, and the children’s race serves as an introduction to urban trail for younger participants. Post-race amenities feature digital race photos from Running06, images by Zoom dans l'oeil de Fab, and refreshments.
Run'n Sea - Cagnes Sur Mer
Run'n Sea is a small road running event on the seafront in Cagnes-sur-Mer, on the French Riviera. It offers two race choices, 5 km and 10 km, with an autumn slot in October and a deliberately limited field of 50 runners.
The route follows the Mediterranean shoreline, so runners spend the race beside the sea rather than in the hills or city streets. Ass Gazelles des Montagnes organizes the event, and the low entry fees and short distances make it easy for newer runners to join while still giving regular road, marathon, and trail runners a quick coastal race.
Odysséa Cannes
Odysséa Cannes guides participants along the Mediterranean in Cannes, offering 10 km, 5 km, and children’s races. This event supports breast cancer research and typically emphasizes mass participation over competitive times. A virtual race option is also available for those participating remotely.
The course features rolling terrain, making it unsuitable for record attempts, but the focus remains on the cause as much as the race itself. Odysséa was founded by international athlete Frédérique Quentin and physiotherapist Frédérique Jules. The broader French series originated from women running between the École Militaire and the Eiffel Tower, expanding into races and walks in numerous cities. A village area collects donations, with funds directed towards breast cancer research and patient support, including wigs and childcare assistance during chemotherapy.
Trail de roucassiero - Le Tignet
The Trail de Roucassiero - Le Tignet begins at the Mairie du Val du Tignet in the Alpes-Maritimes, directing participants onto natural trails where self-sufficiency is required. Organized by Le Tignet Course a Pied in late November, with backing from the town and local groups, the event is included in the Challenge Trail 06. Two timed trail races are offered: Lou Roucas, covering 19.5 km with 950 m of elevation gain, and Lou Pitchoun, a 9.5 km race with 430 m of elevation gain.
The program also features Lou Viradou, a 9.1 km hike suitable for families, featuring 270 m of climbing and an estimated walking time of 2 hours 45 minutes, without official timing. The courses present technical segments demanding runner focus, and any sections shared with traffic adhere to road regulations. Lou Roucas is accessible to juniors and above, Lou Pitchoun to cadets and above. Participants must present a valid competition license or a French PPS health certificate to compete.
Trail du soleil Levens
The Trail du Soleil Levens begins in the village of Levens, situated at the base of Mont Férion in the Alpes-Maritimes, overlooking Nice. This yearly trail-running event takes place in late November, offering a range of distances from short local runs to challenging mountain races: 6.3 km, 9.5 km, 16 km, 30 km, and 60 km. Established in 2015, the race caters to a variety of skill levels, not just a single type of runner.
The routes traverse the hinterland of Nice, utilizing the mountains, valleys, forests, and elevation surrounding Levens in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The 30 km race is a UTMB Index 50K event, covering approximately 30.8 km with 1,927 meters of elevation gain, presenting a significant challenge before the even longer option. Some of the distances are given distinctive names, such as Loutre for 6.3 km, Rando for 9.5 km, Dragon for about 15 km, and Ours for the nearly 30 km course. The event's slogan cleverly references the race name: “Va courir dès le Soleil Levens !”
Cross des îles - Cannes
Cross des îles - Cannes is a December cross-country race series in Cannes, France, connected to the Lérins Islands off the city’s coast. The programme consists of several short off-road events, not one single race, with distances for children, teenagers, adults, Nordic walkers, hikers, and a sport-for-all category.
The race distances range from 1.3 km for school and Poussin events to 8.4 km for senior and master men and the open sport-for-all category. Other options include 5.6 km for senior women and junior men, 3.7 km short races, a 5 km Nordic walk, and a 5.1 km hike. The Lérins archipelago has five islands in the Mediterranean; Sainte-Marguerite is the largest, Saint-Honorat has a monastery, and the islands are situated between the Gulf of La Napoule and the Gulf of Juan.
Marathon de Sanremo
Marathon de Sanremo is a road-running event in Sanremo, on Italy’s Ligurian coast, taking place in early December. The event offers a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 2.5K Family Run. This range of distances accommodates competitive racing, casual participation, juniors, adults, and families. The 5K is free and open to all ages, including timing, medical support, refreshments, bag storage, and a finisher medal for those completing the course.
The course follows the former railway line along the Ligurian Sea, utilizing the cycle path within the Riviera dei Fiori coastal park. It is predominantly straight and nearly flat, run as an out-and-back. This profile suits runners aiming for a personal best, though coastal winds can be a factor. The railway project that elevated and duplicated the tracks created usable land by the sea, and the race now uses this path through Sanremo, a city known for its gardens, exotic plants, and flower cultivation.
XI^ Sanremo Marathon - La Maratona di Sanremo e della Riviera dei Fiori
The Sanremo Marathon is a road race held in Sanremo, along the Ligurian Sea, in early December. The marathon covers the standard 42.195 km distance. It begins and ends at the Sanremo Athletics Stadium in Pian di Poma. The course is FIDAL-approved, and participants have a six-hour time limit. The race weekend also features a half marathon, a non-competitive 10 km, a 5 km Ospedaletti Run, and a 2.5 km Family Run, catering to both licensed marathoners and those seeking shorter distances.
The route starts on the athletics track before transitioning to the Riviera dei Fiori cycle path, following the old railway line by the sea. Runners proceed towards Ospedaletti, then return through Sanremo. The course continues east through Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure, and Santo Stefano al Mare. A turnaround point is located before the San Lorenzo tunnel, with the return leg heading west back to Sanremo. Organizers describe the course as very fast, straight, and nearly flat, suitable for runners aiming for personal bests. Entry requirements align with Italian federation standards, necessitating a FIDAL card, a World Athletics license, or a RunCard with the appropriate competitive medical certificate.
La corrida de Saint-Paul - St Paul de Vence
La Corrida de Saint-Paul is an 8.5 km running race in Saint-Paul de Vence, the hilltop village in southeastern France. It is organized by Sport Nature Activité Promotion, with help from the commune of Saint-Paul de Vence.
The course circles the village ramparts, so the old stone walls are the main feature of the run rather than a backdrop. The event is still small enough to be counted by edition, and the invitation is simple: come run and test yourself around the ramparts of Saint-Paul de Vence.
Valberg snow trail - Guillaumes
The Valberg Snow Trail is a winter trail event held in Guillaumes, within the Valberg area of France's Alpes-Maritimes. This night race on snow typically occurs around the New Year, offering both trail running and walking options. The primary course spans approximately 9 to 9.4 km with an elevation gain of about 400 meters, presenting a short but challenging ascent. A very brief 0.6 km option is also available, contributing to the event's accessible, community-focused atmosphere.
The course navigates the natural landscape surrounding Valberg, with participants setting off after sunset into cold mountain conditions, distinct from a typical road race circuit. Recent participation hovered just below 200 individuals, indicating a modest field that likely comprises local participants, walkers, and newcomers to winter trail running. The listed entry fees are modest, with the 9.4 km race costing 12 EUR and an alternative option at 5 EUR.
