The festival provides various distances within the same Budapest race weekend, ranging from the full marathon to 5 km. A separate race for children means parents can participate and still have time for the young runners. Expect straightforward trail running on rural tracks and through wooded areas; there are no paved surfaces here. All participants receive a finisher medal and chocolate at the finish line. Age-group winners earn medals, overall winners get cups, and additional prizes along with a raffle contribute to the familiar grassroots race atmosphere. The gyermekfutamok Szigliget, Kisfaludy utca terepfutás (children's races Szigliget, Kisfaludy street trail run) is for those who prefer a low-key start, the possibility of some mud or leaves, and the sight of children proudly receiving their own awards.

Gutman Borpince serves as the central point, located on the former brewery grounds, with the adjacent Gránárium dűlő and woods contributing significantly to the atmosphere. The inaugural Dél-Balatoni Csillagó Trail offers a genuine small-field trail experience, not a slick road event. The runs and hikes are 98% off-road, traversing varied, undulating paths through vineyards and forests. Participants should anticipate the terrain impacting their legs from the start. The extended route incorporates Csillagó and Almán-tető, then passes Szkíta Golgota and Fehérkő castle, providing more distinct features than a basic out-and-back course. The event caters to a wide range of participants, offering options from kindergarten and junior races to family, relaxed, beginner, medium-difficulty, challenging, and 60+ categories. This typically results in a diverse starting area, not exclusively populated by elite racers. A notable detail at packet pickup for longer-distance runners is the inclusion of wine-jam portions and a wine glass.

Búcsú tér is the anchor here, on the patch of Veresegyház framed by Találkozók útja, Patak utca, and Mogyoródi út. The 7th Veresi Futónap reads like a proper local running day: chip timing, named bibs, a secured route, and enough structure for regular runners without losing the family feel. Kids get their own mini race categories, so it is easy to bring the smaller runners into the day instead of leaving them on the sidelines. On the run itself, expect refreshment out on the course and again at the finish, plus musicians along the route to keep the legs ticking over. There are individual races and a team option under the “team running rules”: three people run the same chosen route, with the team result built from their individual times rather than a relay. Finishers get a custom metal finisher’s medal, a custom zippered polyester bag, and the usual finish pack and sponsor bits.

A cannon shot starts the runners from the castle car park on Kisfaludy Street in Szigliget. The adult races are part of Várfutás, an October trail-running weekend organized by the Municipality of Szigliget, with main options over 6.5 km, 10 km, and a 1558-meter run. The race commemorates a sixteenth-century harvest-time attack when villagers fled toward the castle from Turkish raiders. Today, the aim is health and community running. The longer routes traverse Szigliget’s streets and hills, passing the old village with its thatched houses and monuments. A steep climb awaits before the finish: the 6.5 km route gains 80 meters in the last 1500 meters, and the 10 km route adds 60 meters in its final 800 meters. The event is structured as a relaxed outdoor day rather than a city-road race, with participants navigating between steep sections and calmer forest paths. The course utilizes the area’s panoramic slopes and shaded woods, meaning the challenge stems from both the climbs and the varied terrain. Families and friends are encouraged to remain after the finish, local wines are featured in the post-race atmosphere, and dogs are permitted, allowing runners to bring a canine companion.

Szádvár Trail is an autumn trail-running event held in Szögliget, Hungary. It offers four routes: the Vitéz Kör (approx. 10 km, 355 m elevation gain), the Lovag Kör (approx. 22 km, 720 m gain), the Kapitány Kör (approx. 43 km, 1,318 m gain), and the Ultra (approx. 69 km, 2,164 m gain). Even the shortest route demands significant climbing ability. The courses traverse the hills and valleys of the Aggtelek Karst, utilizing wooded areas instead of paved roads.
