About this race

Sugarloaf is the final event in the King & Queen of the Crater 4, a race within the "King & Queen of the Crater Trail Running Series" that "runs Sugarloaf." The atmosphere is much like an after-work trail run rather than a formal road race: four Port Hills peaks over four weeks, with a short and a long option at each event. Expect uneven terrain, steep climbs, and the late-day light that can make ascents seem more challenging than anticipated. Runners and walkers participate, choose their course, and enter the Port Hills with one required element: all participants must carry a headtorch, which indicates the character of this event.
