The Bieg Alpejski Kowary - Okraj directs runners and MTB riders along a 10 km mountain path from Kowary's center to Przelecz Okraj. Beginning near Jagiellonczyka Street and Kowarska Starowka at approximately 480 m elevation, it ascends to 1050 m at the finish on the Czech side of the Karkonosze Mountains. The competition offers two disciplines: an alpine run and a mountain-bike climb, with each limited to 300 entrants.
The course is marked every kilometer, featuring a refreshment station at the midpoint and another at the finish. Entrants receive a GPX file for navigation. The 2-hour course limit indicates a focused, challenging ascent rather than an extended trail run. The entry fee covers a secured course, chip timing, a finisher's medal, and a Pasta Party at Amelkowa Chata, identified by the start number. Post-race, participants can utilize free bus services back to Kowary, with the race bib acting as the transport pass.
