The ALS charity run - Ján Svočák memorial is a trail-running series in Svit, starting and finishing at Penzión Koliba. It benefits ALS research and honors Ján Svočák, organized by Športuj srdcom o.z. The event offers various distances: certified 65 km and 45 km trail races, a 21 km race, a 21 km trail race allowing dogs, Numiron relay races, Nordic Walking, and children's races for ages 3 to 14. The 65 km course is predominantly off-road, with minimal asphalt and gravel sections, transitioning to approximately half meadow and half forest. Participants will find four aid stations, with the first located at 12 km, and a timed checkpoint at 30 km, emphasizing the importance of early pacing. The 45 km course involves 2,000 m of climbing and has an 8-hour limit, while the 21 km option includes 950 m of ascent. The event also caters to those seeking shorter distances, featuring a 5.10 km walking route with 140 m of climbing, relay teams, families, children, and runners accompanied by dogs. The 65 km race is a qualifying event for the Slovak Ultratrail League, awarding 3 ITRA points, appealing to trail runners seeking to accumulate points for challenging mountain races.
