Birmingham Running Festival.
The Drop Birmingham begins at an event centre in Sutton Park, near Sutton Coldfield. Participants surrender their phones, watches, and maps before starting. They are blindfolded, transported to an undisclosed location, and then must navigate back on foot. The stated distances are 6, 10, and 15 miles, representing straight-line drop points; the actual running route will likely be considerably longer. No course is marked, no route is provided, and there is no defined path. Runners must interpret the terrain, make navigational decisions, and manage a combination of trail and urban environments to return to Sutton Park. This event resembles a self-navigation challenge more than a typical race, where pace is secondary to successfully determining one's location.
Race For Life Sutton Coldfield offers 5K and 10K charity runs within Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. The 10K begins at 9:30 AM, followed by the 5K at 11:00 AM, providing a separate start for the shorter distance. The course commences and concludes on grass, incorporating woodland trails and grassy areas within the park. It features varied terrain, including both level sections and inclines. As with other Race for Life events, this race supports cancer research, with participants often fundraising as a key aspect of their involvement.
