KEYS 33rd Annual 5K Run/Walk
SUN OCT 11
The KEYS 33rd Annual 5K Run/Walk takes place on a fall Sunday morning in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, beginning at 11:00 a.m. from 1510 Bilgo Lane. This is a straightforward 5K for runners and walkers. Packet pickup is available beforehand at the front of Kewaskum High School, and the entry fee is $25. The race benefits KEYS, Inc., a nonprofit established in 1985 to provide scholarships for Kewaskum High School graduates. The event features a Gaining Grit warm-up, announcements, the National Anthem, and awards at 12:15 p.m. Runners must be present to claim their medals. Participants range from young children to older adults, with age-group medals awarded for categories from 4-7 years up to 70-plus. Cash prizes are also given to the top overall male and female finishers. A new course record will be rewarded with $200; the current records are 17:58 for women and 15:22 for men. Following the race, Kewaskum Booster Club concessions offer another opportunity to support KHS students.

The listings feature holiday and festival-style races like the Earth Day 5K in Oberlin, the Firecracker Frolic in Easley, the East Berlin Turkey Trot, and the East Brandywine Food Truck Festival 5K. Rhode Island is represented by East Bay events in East Providence and Warren. Morgan, Utah, offers the longest options with East Canyon Marathon races at 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon distances.

It serves as an annual community fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the Saukville Parent's Association to support elementary school activities and classroom resources. The 5K race offers cash prizes for the top male and female finishers and awards for winners in each age division. Following the race, Grady Park hosts a costume contest, a pumpkin pancake breakfast, a bounce house, and music by a DJ near the shelter. Children aged 12 and under can participate in a separate Trick or Treat Fun Walk on a shorter course featuring four trick-or-treat stations.

Over 90% of the race unfolds within the park's wooded areas, passing Forest Lake and Grass Lake. The terrain is characterized as fast and flat, suitable for trail runners seeking less technical challenges on longer distances. Families are included, with children in the 1K receiving their own bibs, and this kids' race is complimentary for registered parents.

The event accommodates all ages and abilities, offering adult, youth, walking, and virtual 5K choices. The 5K course follows the Fox River, establishing the race within Appleton rather than a generic park setting. Costumes are encouraged, and a participant costume contest takes place after the 5K. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome. All finishers get a custom medal and refreshments. The top three overall male and female 5K finishers receive special recognition. Family and group discounts, YMCA packet pickup, and volunteer opportunities reinforce its community focus.

Chilly Willy Winter Run Series - SEVEN Events!
SAT NOV 7
The Chilly Willy Winter Run Series features seven events held in Wisconsin between November and March. The series focuses on cold-weather running, offering 5K and 10K races at most locations, alongside a walking series and two half marathons throughout the season. Presented by Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC, the series allows half marathon participants to remain in contention on days without their chosen distance; they are placed in the 10K category for those events. Rucking, which involves hiking with a weighted backpack and originates from military training, is now available at all events as a lower-impact fitness choice.
Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer
SAT NOV 14
The Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer is a Wisconsin race that uses deer-season wordplay. Runners can select a 5K, 10K, or half marathon, named the 5-Pointer, 10-Pointer, and 13.1-Pointer, respectively. The event takes place in November, serving as preparation for Wisconsin's deer season. It also offers a 5 Pointer Walk, 5K Ruck, 10K Ruck, a free Bambi Run for children, and an early start option for the half marathon. The course specifics are not detailed, but the race strongly embraces its theme. Participants receive a wooden finisher medal known as a woodle. Deer puns are incorporated throughout the event, and runners are informed that they may see actual deer along the course or within the surrounding woods. The name originated from a community naming competition, where "Bucks & Does Fifty Pointer" was the winning entry before the event's current lineup was established around the pointer-distance format.
Holiday Lights Hunger Run/Walk
SAT NOV 21
The Holiday Lights Hunger Run/Walk is a 5K and 1-mile event in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, taking place in November at the Jaycees Quarryview Center Area and Evergreen Park. It proceeds through the park during the annual drive-through holiday lights display and functions as the Sheboygan County Food Bank’s main annual fundraiser. The race also collaborates with myTEAM TRIUMPH, allowing participants to register for the 5K as either Angels or Captains without charge. Angels are physically able athletes who assist Captains, individuals with any type of disability, to the finish line. The event is coordinated by Food Bank employees and local residents, with area businesses and groups providing contributions and sponsorships. Funds generated support the Sheboygan County Food Bank, aiding in the distribution of food to pantries throughout Sheboygan County. myTEAM TRIUMPH also maintains a Photo Circle for participants to exchange race-day pictures and review previous years.
Junior Woman's Club of Mequon-Thiensville 2026 Turkey Trot
THU NOV 26
On Thanksgiving Day in Thiensville, Wisconsin, the Junior Woman's Club of Mequon-Thiensville Turkey Trot offers local runners and walkers a 5K beginning at 250 Elm Street. The course follows a MapMyRun route, with packet pickup at Village Park in Thiensville prior to race morning. Finishers get medals, shirts are provided while supplies last, and proceeds benefit groups including Family Sharing, Balance, Ozaukee Food Alliance, Kettle Moraine YMCA, and other Mequon-Thiensville community projects supported by local sponsors.

About 5K races in Fond du Lac

Fond du Lac Training Notes

Fond du Lac hosts 40 5K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Lakeside Park anchors the best running in Fond du Lac, and locals use its path and road for easy miles by Lake Winnebago. You can cover 5 miles with jaunts to Fraser Point Lookout, the Lighthouse, and Fountain Island. Harbor View Trail and Peebles Trail stretch a combined Lakeside option to about 10 miles when you want steady Z2. The Riverwalk starts south of Johnson Street and works with South Brooke Paths for 5 to 6 miles. Fond du Lac Running Club keeps the scene moving, and SSM Health Walleye Run/Walk, Salute the Troops, and the Turkey Trot give the calendar real anchors.

Fond du Lac riders get a useful mix without leaving town. The Fond du Lac Loop gives cyclists a 16-mile bicycle and pedestrian pathway, and the route is now 90% on separate trails. The Loop rolls through Prairie Trail, Peebles Trail, Lakeside Park Trail, Brooke Street Trail, and Camelot Trail, so base miles stay easy to stitch together. Rosendale sits 7 miles west. Race the Lake is the big anchor event, with 89 miles around Lake Winnebago from Lakeside Park. Buttermilk Creek Park owns the sledding hill, so that is where the climbs live.

April 15 to October 15 is the sweet spot because Lakeside Park opens the Lighthouse observation tower and the lakefront feels like the default start line. Summer has flower displays, boating, picnics, and long daylight for intervals, Z2 loops, and pre-race sharpening before Walleye Run/Walk or Race the Lake. The city can get hot, and the record high reached 111 °F on July 13, 1936, so locals respect early starts. Winter changes the rhythm for both sports, and Buttermilk Creek Park’s sledding hill becomes part of the season while the record low of -41 °F on January 30, 1951, reminds everyone to dress like they mean it.
