Metsä Group Seurakisat is a free, low-threshold athletics series in Finland, organized with Metsä Group and local athletics clubs during regular club training hours. Children, young people, families, sports school pupils, and newcomers can participate without a competition license or sports school membership. Registration takes place at the venue before the session, and each meeting begins with a shared warm-up before the day’s events commence.
The program combines basic track and field events with cross-country running: sprints, flying-start runs, 800 metres, long jump, standing long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and short throwing stations are included in the series. Results are unofficial, emphasizing practice over ranking, though performances can contribute to series points. Parents assist in running the events by measuring jumps and throws, preparing the sand pit, and managing other official duties. Each participant receives a Seurakisakortti, collects a sticker for each attendance, and can use the card at home to log summer results; prizes are not given at each meeting, but all participants are recognized together at the Kunniakierros event.
