La Caussadaise
La Caussadaise begins and ends at Stade Firmin Daudou in Trélissac, Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine. This mid-June trail event takes place in natural forest settings, offering adult distances of 5 km, 13 km, and 18 km. Additionally, there is a 9 km untimed walk requiring a bib. The 5 km course is suitable for beginners from the minimes category, the 13 km is open to cadets and older, and the 18 km is for juniors and above. Children can participate in the Kid Trail, featuring an 800 m run for younger categories and a 1.8 km run for benjamins. The races venture into the CRAPA forest, with organizers hinting at unexpected paths and turns. The 13 km, the most frequented distance, has been included in a departmental challenge. The 18 km offers a substantial option for regular trail runners without being an ultra-marathon. The race evening features a sports village with partners, local artisans, producers, bib collection, refreshments, and entertainment. A paella meal can be pre-ordered during registration. Each participant receives a commemorative gift, and a team challenge for companies or associations requires three runners per team. The event, which reached its 16th edition, typically maintains a modest scale, capped at 500 participants, with recent fields numbering in the low hundreds.
