Beh oslobodenia Lietavskej Lúčky
The Beh oslobodenia Lietavskej Lúčky is a May road race held in Lietavská Lúčka, organized by the municipality and Bežecká liga Žilina. The primary event is a 10 km run, starting and finishing near the health center. The race is intentionally kept small, with a limit of 150 participants for the main run. A separate 1500 m race, the Lúčanský okruh, is primarily for children and their parents. The 10 km course follows an out-and-back path from the village towards Bánová, then along the highway towards Hôrky, utilizing asphalt and local roads. While the listed elevation gain is 0 m, the course is not officially certified, suggesting it functions more as a local competition rather than a standard event for setting records. The day's schedule includes a formal opening and a wreath-laying ceremony at the SNP memorial prior to the races. All finishers receive awards, with category winners distinguished by age for both men and women. Additionally, special prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female local runners from Lietavská Lúčka.
