Harbour Hustle

Harbour Hustle is a one-mile run or walk across the Macdonald Bridge, connecting Halifax and Dartmouth in Nova Scotia. It takes place in August, beginning in the morning, with the entire course confined to a short 1.6 km section on the bridge. Previously known as MACPASS Miles, its straightforward slogan, “One Bridge, Endless Hustle,” reflects the event’s focus: a quick crossing for all participants rather than an extended road race. The participants are divided into men’s, women’s, youth, and under-10 children’s heats, accommodating adults competing seriously, teenagers, young children, and parents with toddlers. Youth and children participate without charge, while adult registration is inexpensive. The race benefits North Grove, a community center, and the event is designed to be family-oriented, welcoming walkers and runners from preschool age to seniors. Bibs must be collected the day prior, and dogs, except for service animals, are prohibited on the course.

Kicking PancreAS™ 5K - Nova Scotia

The Kicking PancreAS 5K - Nova Scotia is an evening 5K run/walk held at the Mic Mac Canoe Club in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It is designed for runners and walkers of all abilities, offering a 90-minute course window and check-in prior to the start. The event supports pancreatic cancer awareness, patient support, healthcare education, and Canadian research, aiming to raise CA$55,000 from 500 participants. The route covers five kilometres at the participant's own pace, with finishers receiving a medal, running bib, and event swag. The race encourages participants to wear purple, glow-in-the-dark gear, and costumes to visually represent its cause. All funds raised remain in Canada. The event is intended for families, teams, youth, Run NS members, first-time participants, walkers, and individuals seeking to achieve a personal 5K goal.

Lunenburg 5km Road Race and Muffin Run

The Lunenburg 5km Road Race and Muffin Run is a June 5K walk or run in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, starting from the community centre. It is part of the Run Nova Scotia Race Series, sending participants through a UNESCO World Heritage town on an open-course route. The event also serves as a local fundraiser for the West Nova Fuels Soccer Club, the Canadian Dory Racing Association, and the Lunenburg Dory Program. The route passes the boardwalk, the Bluenose, working fishing vessels, old town streets, and the Lunenburg Academy before returning to town for a downhill finish. The course remains open until late morning, accommodating both runners and walkers. Stroller runners should start at the back, and non-service dogs are not permitted. Following the race, awards and a reception take place at the Lunenburg Community Center, featuring hundreds of homemade muffins served by volunteers. Local merchants contribute draw prizes, raffle draws enhance the community atmosphere, and awards are presented to Lunenburg County runners.

Om sykling og løping i Halifax

Halifax Training Notes
