Halifax's running scene centers on coastal loops and waterfront trails — the Halifax Waterfront Trail offers flat, scenic kilometres along the harbour, and races like Wild Lakes 10K and Run Like HECS draw locals to both urban and park settings. Cyclists face the Atlantic wind but find rewarding terrain in the surrounding Nova Scotia landscape: the Cabot Trail and routes through the Eastern Shore deliver serious elevation and ocean views within 60–90 minutes of the city. Winter running and cycling here demand preparation, but spring through fall offer excellent conditions for both sports.
