Wigan

Wigan sits on flat Lancashire coal-country terrain, 20km west of Manchester. Runners use the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath for easy loop training and flatter local parkruns; most serious racing happens in nearby Manchester. Cyclists head east toward the Manchester area or south to the Southport CC 10 and Southport CC 15 courses on the coast, or join the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride which passes through the region.
