La Calanquaise begins and ends at the Le Rouet parking area in Carry-le-Rouet, located on the Côte Bleue in Bouches-du-Rhône. This event offers four trail and walking options: the 15 km Trail La Calanquaise, the 7.3 km Mini-Trail, a timed 12 km Nordic walk, and a 7.3 km leisure walk. The main trail, though short, is demanding, featuring 350 m of climbing and consistent ascents and descents. The Mini-Trail also requires some preparation, with 230 m of elevation gain concentrated in a shorter distance.
The courses traverse the Massifs de la plaine du Romaron and utilize coastal paths and calanques near Carry-le-Rouet. All four events provide expansive sea views, covering the port of Carry, the bay of Marseille, and the lighthouse of La Couronne. Participants may encounter ruins, small shelters, and old vineyards along the routes. The 15 km race is suitable for novice trail runners, cross-country athletes, regular nature runners, and experienced trail runners aiming for personal bests; poles are prohibited on this course. The shorter trail offers road runners and beginners a more accessible entry into the event, while the Nordic and leisure walks maintain the same scenery at a walking pace.
