About this race
Ōhope Reserve hosts the third event in the Eastern Bay of Plenty Triathlon & Multisport Club’s winter duathlon series. It is a straightforward run-bike-run: flat running within the reserve, followed by a road cycling segment, and concluding with a run. The EBOP Monthly Duathlon – July offers a club atmosphere rather than a large-scale production, which is often beneficial during winter.
Children and youth participate before the adult races, ensuring a diverse field. This event allows newer multisport athletes to try the format easily, while seasoned competitors find a "consistent winter racing option" to maintain fitness. The primary appeal lies in its practical organization: uncomplicated terrain, a clear race flow, and a "supportive club environment" conducive to focused racing.
