Human Machine 100 km

The Human Machine 100 km is an endurance race held in Piotrków Trybunalski, utilizing a straightforward 10 km loop. Completing the full distance requires 10 laps. Participants are not restricted to running; they may also walk or use Nordic walking poles. The course follows typical urban surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and road shoulders, making the primary challenge sustained effort over multiple laps rather than technical difficulty. The race is limited to 200 participants and is organized by Stowarzyszenie HUMAN MACHINE. A distinct tradition is the absence of awarded places for first, second, or third; the objective is completing the chosen distance. Any shorter distances must still be completed in full 10 km increments, maintaining a clear and straightforward format. Adults may register independently, while younger participants require parental consent and supervision.

36. Międzynarodowy Wyścig Kolarski „Solidarności” i Olimpijczyków

The Solidarity and Olympians International Cycling Race is a Polish multi-stage road race held annually since 1990, typically in late June and early July. It is part of Poland’s ProLiga series and the UCI Europe Tour, holding a UCI 2.2 rating. Consequently, the field consists mainly of Polish squads and foreign UCI Continental teams, rather than WorldTour teams. The race is organized by the Łódź Region of NSZZ “Solidarność” along with the Polish Olympians Association and host-city authorities, and it runs under the patronage of the Polish Olympic Committee. The route varies by edition but is structured as a point-to-point race across Polish cities, with stages that have included Łódź, Jarosław, Strzyżów, and Kielce, among other hosts. One past route spanned over 700 km across five voivodeships, and its most demanding stage covered more than 200 km with six mountain primes, indicating the race is not solely a flat sprinters’ event. Stages also feature intermediate sprints and special primes, encouraging riders to attack before the finish. Piotrkowska Street in Łódź adds a local element with a children’s mini-race, and the winners’ list includes Marceli Bogusławski and Tomasz Brożyna, the race’s sole three-time winner.

About cycling & running in Tomaszów Mazowiecki

Tomaszów Training Notes

Running: Locals run from the city centre toward Niebieskie Źródła Nature Reserve when they want easy rhythm and clean Z2. Kościuszko Square gives a simple start point, because Saint Anthony Street runs that way from the middle of Tomaszów. Kaczka gives another local loop feel when the legs need something shorter. Wanda Panfil Team is the name you hear around races. The 43. Bieg im. Bronisława Malinowskiego is the anchor event here, with over 700 people in the recreational race and 231 runners in the 10 km main race in 2024. Opoczyński Bieg z Wandą Panfil also sits on the regional calendar.

Cycling: Locals ride plenty, because Tomaszów has 300 cycle routes to pick from. One route runs 5 km with 172 m of ascent. Another route is 2 km and climbs 520 m. One route is 5 km and gains 953 m. The climbs sit on those rolling outbound roads, not on one named hill. Wyścig Kolarski po Ziemi Łódzkiej and the 36. Międzynarodowy Wyścig Kolarski „solidarności” i Olimpijczyków give the race edge.

Season: May and August are the months when most people get on their bikes here. Summer puts more runners toward Niebieskie Źródła and more riders around Zalew Sulejowski, with longer Z2 rides and sharper intervals before race weekends. The Pilica valley keeps the training honest without making it mountain work. Winter changes the feel fast, because runners keep the roads and parks steady while cyclists choose shorter spins or indoor work. Ice Arena Tomaszów Mazowiecki becomes the local winter flex, because the city has Poland’s only all-year speed skating track and it has hosted World Championships.
