The Erlanger Schüler-Triathlon, now in its 36th edition, is a children's triathlon organized by TV 1848 Erlangen. As part of the DTU Triathlon-Schultour, it focuses on school-age athletes learning the sport in a competitive setting. The event includes Schüler A, B, C, and D categories, with distances tailored to each age group. The shortest format involves 50 meters of swimming, 2 kilometers of cycling, and 400 meters of running. Other age groups may swim up to 400 meters, cycle up to 10 kilometers, and run up to 2.5 kilometers.
Approximately 1,024 participants are anticipated, marking it as a significant youth event. The race attracts young athletes from the region, including very young children for whom distances are kept short for a first triathlon. Family and friends line the route, contributing to a family-friendly atmosphere. The core appeal is offering children the complete swim-bike-run challenge on courses appropriate for their age, rather than adult endurance distances.
