Splash of Color 5K
Splash of Color 5K is a color-splash run/walk at Garvin Park in Evansville, Indiana, with a 5K for ages 8 and up and a 1-mile Family Fun Walk. The 5K starts in the morning, followed by the family walk, so the event is built for both runners and families with younger kids. It follows the color-run format: participants are splashed with color along the way, and a white or light-colored shirt is recommended so the powder shows up clearly. The event supports St. Vincent Early Learning Center, with Ascension St. Vincent Evansville as title sponsor and the Evansville Trails Coalition as a program partner. Money raised helps keep high-quality early childhood education accessible and supports toddler and preschool trail programming through “Trails on a Smaller Scale.” Its format connects to the wider color-run idea: untimed 5K events inspired by Holi, where colored food-grade cornstarch replaces medals, prizes, and race-day pressure.
