Tarbes sits at the foot of the Pyrenees, making it a natural hub for cyclists tackling big passes and gravel routes. The GFNY Lourdes Tourmalet and 66°Sud Pyrénées Catalanes Gravel Tour both depart nearby, drawing riders into serious mountain terrain within 20km. Runners have flatter loops along the Adour river valley and smaller regional races, but the city's real draw is cycling — steep climbs, Alpine meadows, and roads that gain 1000m+ in short pitches.
