Lincoln's running terrain is rolling limestone upland around 60m elevation, with the Inflatable 5K Lincoln drawing local participants through the city streets. Cyclists benefit from the flat Witham valley floor but head southeast toward Nottingham or northwest into the Lincolnshire Wolds for proper climbing; the Lincoln Wheelers CC Club Time Trials (5-mile and 15-mile courses) are the regular competitive outlet, while the C2C2C 200km route connects the region's longer rides.
