Running: Locals use Cap d'Antibes for easy base miles, quick intervals, and sea-breeze runs that never feel dull. The loop is 7 km with 315 feet of elevation. The route runs 6 km beside the water to Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Antibes Runners keeps it social with approx 10 km runs every two weeks and coffee after. Cyclones covers a shorter 5 km social run. ASOA Run and Tri trains every Wednesday at Fort Carre, and Le Semi de Cannes, Cannes Urban Trail, Urban Trail du Cannet, Odysséa Cannes, and Courir pour une fleur keep the calendar honest.
Cycling: Locals ride the coast first, because Cannes Centre, Golfe Juan, Cap d'Antibes, Old Antibes, Port Vauban, and Fort Carre link up cleanly. EuroVelo 8 runs 36 km from Cannes to Nice with 69 m of ascent, 43 m of descent, and plenty of smooth cycle path. The Cannes Croisette route passes the Palais de Festivals and Le Vieux Port before heading toward Theole sur Mer, Rade d'Agay, and Saint Raphael. ASOA Run and Tri gives tri riders a real local door in. GFNY Cannes, Gentlemen de Cannes, Cannes International Triathlon, and Triathlon international de Cannes work as anchor events. The Esterel mountains sit west, and the Alpes-Maritimes and Provence hold the bigger climbing north.
Season: Spring and autumn suit both sports best, because locals can stack Z2, speed work, and longer rides without fighting the day. Summer keeps the weather good, and the coast turns into early starts, sea swims, shaded coffee stops, and palm trees for sprint markers. Cannes-Antibes still works in heat because the 25 km coastline and 48 beaches keep recovery close. Winter changes the rhythm more than the attitude. Runners stay around Fort Carre, Route du Bord de Mer, Juan-les-Pins, and Old Antibes when they want steady road miles. Cyclists keep the coastal roads ticking and save Alpes-Maritimes or Esterel days for clear windows.
