About cycling & running in LatinaLatina Training Notes
Running: Locals run Latina like a small scene, with race days doing the work of a run club. Girolago di Fogliano gives runners a named loop when they want steady Z2 away from the centre. Borgo Piave carries the 16° Maratonina Azzurra through local roads and Strada della Chiesuola. The Maratonina Azzurra covers 21 km on June 27, 2026. Maratonina Azzurra starts from Piazza del Popolo and lets the course show you Latina. Sermoneta hosts a 700 km test.
Cycling: Latina riders have 184 cycle routes to play with, so the group ride can be easy spin, base miles, or proper gran fondo work. The shortest loop runs 1 km and stacks 682 m of ascent before 700 m of descent. Another route runs 3 km and carries 1,554 m of ascent. One route covers 3 km and takes on 939 m of ascent. RR Latina Sabaudia Priverno Sezze Bassiano gives the long road day, while Tour Pedemontana MTB keeps the MTB option alive.
Season: April and May are the cleanest months for riding here, and most people get on their bikes then. Runners also get a packed calendar, with Circeo Run and Setia Run 10K both landing on May 10, 2026. Summer brings the Roman summer climate, so locals do intervals and save longer Z2 rides for early morning or evening. We Run Latina uses that summer feel in the historic centre, while Corri a Fondi and Memorial Alessia Calvani keep June busy. Winter shifts the feel toward steadier training, and Corri a Terracina closes the listed road calendar on November 22, 2026.
