Albacete

Albacete sits on the high Meseta plateau at 650 metres elevation, making it one of Spain's windier cities and a stronghold for mountain biking. The Copa BTT Desafío Albacete and BTT Ciudad de Albacete draw serious off-road cyclists to the red-soil trails and pine forests of the surrounding countryside; the terrain rolls between 600–800m with technical descents. Road runners have flat parkland routes through the city centre and along the Río Júcar, though the plateau winds test pacing on longer efforts.
