Test Track 10 Mile

ランニング： コースは832 kmで、獲得標高は35mって感じかな。Basildon Athletics Clubが月曜と水曜の夜に練習してるから、地元の人たちはわざわざ遠出しなくてもインターバル練習ができちゃうんだ。Northlands ParkにはBasildon parkrunのコースがあって、反時計回りで高低差26m。色んな路面がミックスされてて走りごたえあるよ。みんな、そこにある2つの湖の周りの芝生、舗装路、石畳、土の道を使って、Z2のゆっくりした練習とか、5Kのスピード練習なんかしてるね。Basildon 10km 2026、Basildon Half Marathon and Juniors Presented by Utilize September 2026、Test Track 10 Mile、それからCrown To Crown 5Kのイブニングレースとか、色々イベントがあるから、カレンダーも埋まってて飽きないよ。

サイクリング： Basildon CCは小さいけどフレンドリーなクラブだよ。今はレース志向の人が多いかな。みんなシクロクロス、タイムトライアル、ロードレース、MTBなんかでよくレースに出てて、Facebookでわいわい情報交換したり、からかい合ったりしてるね。地元の人たちはNor MarshとかMotney Hillまでbase milesを稼ぎに行くんだ。往復69マイルで、そのうち42%は車が来ない道だから走りやすいよ。Bowers Marshは往復9マイルともっと短いコースだし、The Bell Inn, Hordon on the Hillまでは12マイルのパブライドもできるよ。Langdon HillsとかMotney Hillあたりになると、登りもそれなりにきつくなってくるし、南の方はアップダウンも結構あるんだ。

シーズン： 春と夏が一番良い時期だね。特に5月、6月、7月、8月、9月のCrown To Crown 5Kのイブニングレースが、Race For Life BasildonとかPhoenix Striders Summer Series 5K Julyと重なると最高だよ。夏はZ2のロング走、Gloucester Parkでのトラック練習、Tilbury FortとかRainham Hallへの安定したライドに最適。最高気温と最低気温の差もそんなになくて、年間を通して十分な雨量があるから走りやすいんだ。冬も海洋性気候で過ごしやすいんだけど、Northlands Parkの足元は変わってくるね。南側が泥だらけになったらトレイルシューズが必須だし、シクロクロスとかMTBが正解って感じになるよ。
